Victoria Atkins MP hailed the second Louth & Horncastle Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair a success.
Hundreds of people joined a range of local and national businesses at the Royal British Legion Hall in Louth on Friday. The Job Centres covering Louth and Mablethorpe supported the event and were on hand throughout the day to give advice.
Victoria said, “After the success of last year’s Jobs Fair, I wanted again to bring together constituents who are looking for work and successful local businesses that want to expand. With more than 200 people attending including pupils from local schools, I think we can say it was a great success.
I was delighted that we had many local businesses such as Polypipe, Walnut Care and Wheels 2 Work as well as national companies with local connections such as BAE Systems, and National Grid, offering careers and apprenticeships.
I was particularly pleased that once again local schools attended the Fair so that students could see the variety of career options available to them. There are many apprenticeships and training opportunities available locally when they leave school and I hope the Fair has given them ideas. The Fair has again proved to be a positive event for our local area.”
