I had the pleasure of visiting the world-famous, local producer, Lincolnshire poacher and chewing the cud with owners Simon and Tim. The two brothers this year are celebrating 30 years as artisan cheese producers and what a success they have been!
Lincolnshire Poacher was a key ingredient on the @greatbritishmenu representing Lincolnshire on the national culinary stage. It is stocked in a range of London bakeries, a hand full of delicatessens in Paris, and even sold in Lima, Peru!
They are not only a thriving business but are also keeping alive an aspect of our local culture and heritage. They also prioritise producing ethically and to that end have their own wind turbine, with which they produce more electricity than they use, contributing the surplus back to the national grid.
If having a picnic this weekend I would encourage you to add a block of Lincolnshire Poacher to your basket!
