Victoria Atkins was delighted to join students at King Edward IV Grammar School for their Election hustings.
Victoria was one of only two candidates to attend the hustings. Most questions were prepared in advance by students but there was also the opportunity for audience members to ask questions from the floor, which made for a great atmosphere and certainly kept both candidates on their toes!
Victoria welcomed the opportunity to outline what she, and the Conservative Party, can offer young people in Louth & Horncastle and the commitment to support them at every stage of their lives. Victoria cited the example that 3510 new apprenticeships have been created in Louth & Horncastle since 2010 - and stated her intention to support local businesses in creating more.
Victoria was very impressed at the calibre of questions from the students and particularly pleased to see so many of local young people taking an active interest in the political process.
Victoria said, "I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Hustings - students and teachers. It was particularly impressive that this hustings was suggested and organised by the students. King Edward is another example of a great local school producing fine young adults. The afternoon was a real success."
