Victoria was privileged this summer to visit several Conservative Policy Forum (‘CPF’) groups across the country to discuss the policy paper on a British Bill of Rights, which she co-wrote with Oliver Sells QC. 2015 will be the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, as well as election year, and so they called the paper “A Magna Carta for 2015”.
From Worcestershire to a Conservative Future meeting at the House of Commons, the paper received a warm welcome from members who wished to examine the fundamentally important issue of human rights. Without exception, the discussions were thoughtful and covered a wide range of issues from prisoners’ voting rights to Andy Murray’s Wimbledon victory!
Thank you, in particular, to David Godfrey and Russ Taylor of the Tonbridge, Edenbridge & Malling and Chatham & Aylseford CPF groups for their review of their groups’ discussion – or Wealden Hall 2013 as history will no doubt remember it.
