We experienced unusually high levels of rainfall in Louth & Horncastle through late May and into June. Flood warnings were in place for a number of weeks and certain areas in Horncastle and out towards the coast did experience flooding.
Throughout the wet weather, I kept residents up-to-date with weather warnings, road conditions and flood risks on Social Media and in the press.
I also met the Environment Agency to find out how areas at risk of flooding are protected from flood damage. The Government and Council funded Horncastle Flood Schemes helped to keep most of the town dry.
