Victoria Atkins MP was delighted to meet officers and members of the NFU branches of Coningsby and of Horncastle.
They were hosted most generously by Mervin and Tim Casey who showed Victoria their leek production and packaging system at their farm in New York.
At the meeting, the issues discussed included a hare coursing, flooding, the Constituency Commission and the pressures of pricing in the current market.
Victoria said,
“Agriculture remains a vital part of the local economy and, of course, helps to preserve the character of our countryside. I am therefore always pleased to meet local farmers to see how I can support them in all their work. This was latest in a line of regular meetings which I hold with Farmers across the constituency.”
Victoria encourages all residents to participate in the Constituency Commission Survey which can be accessed at https://www.lhcc.org.uk/.
