Victoria Atkins MP visited Horncastle theatre and met members of the “Young Stagers Group”
Victoria was delighted to visit the theatre last Saturday morning to watch the youngest members of the theatre group, the Young Stagers, rehearse their next production “King Arthur”.
Victoria discussed the future of the theatre with the Vice Chair of the Horncastle Theatre Company and Co Leader of the Horncastle Theatre Young Stagers,Gail Hinkins and the other volunteers who give up their free time to make the theatre work. She also enjoyed speaking to the young actors, finding out about their favourite plays and costumes.
Following the visit Victoria said,
“I was delighted to visit Horncastle Theatre and see the tremendous work being done by the volunteers and young actors.
Those involved in running the Young Stagers Group deserve our thanks for enabling young people in Horncastle to meet each week and have fun on the stage.
I was very impressed when watching the rehearsal of the next production. I think we have some West End stars in the making here!
Everyone was very proud of the recent fundraising drive to replace the seats in the theatre. I look forward to trying out the new, improved red seats when I make my next visit to the theatre to watch a play.
I encourage everyone to book their tickets early for the forthcoming performance of “King Arthur” as I have no doubt they will sell out fast."
