Victoria Atkins MP recently met Anglian Water to follow up on the work they have done since her inaugural Flood Forum in May.
The Flood Forum enabled local residents to raise issues of inland flooding in Louth & Horncastle with experts including Anglian Water, the Environment Agency and the Drainage Boards.
Since May, East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) have published their Stage Two Water Cycle Study, which examines some of the potential issues relating to water supply, wastewater and treatment work infrastructure.
ELDC and Anglian Water are also collaborating on the Local Plan, ensuring that water availability and flood risk is considered properly when planning for future growth.
Victoria said,
“I am pleased to see that progress has been made in a number of areas since the first Flood Forum. I am determined to ensure that the local residents’ concerns are heard by the powers that be.”
The next Flood Forum will address concerns about coastal flooding.
