Alongside other Lincolnshire MPs, I have been campaigning for more funding for our drainage boards, which do such important work protecting our area from flooding.
I'm pleased the government has acknowledged the exceptional pressure that East Lindsey District Council has been under this year to meet the unprecedented rise in energy costs associated with funding our local drainage boards.
The funding has come out of a one-off £3 million grant announced yesterday by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. The £3m is being shared between 15 local authorities, with almost a third of the total - £927,373 - coming into East Lindsey!
This funding is great news for Council Tax payers in East Lindsey and a testament to the great work that the leadership of ELDC has undertaken to make this case to the government.
