Last Friday Victoria Atkins MP visited Eresby Hall, one of a number of care homes in Louth & Horncastle participating in National Care Home Open Day.
This is a UK-wide initiative where care homes are invited to open their doors to guests with the aim of creating lasting links between residents and local communities.
Eresby Hall is based in Spilsby, Lincolnshire and works as a part of the Orders of St. John Care Trust to provide care for older people and impairments, while also being able to offer respite and day care.
Victoria said:
“It was a real privilege to join those taking part in National Care Home Open Day, by visiting Eresby Hall on Friday.
I very much enjoyed speaking with residents such as Arthur and Gladys Goodacre who celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year (pictured).
I was also impressed by the thoughtfulness of such facilities as the Eresby Arms, a bar for residents, the Tea Room and a hairdressers which are all available to make residents feel at home.
The work being undertaken by staff at care homes such as Eresby Hall across Lincolnshire is incredibly important. It is vital we ensure older people receive the high quality, compassionate care they need later in life. I fully support the Government in its efforts to improve the level of social care throughout Britain.”
