Prior to the House breaking for the Summer Recess Victoria Atkins MP welcomed Queen Elizabeth Grammar School to the Houses of Parliament and Number 10 Downing Street.

“One of the great privileges of working in the Mother of all Parliaments is having the chance to share its magnificence with constituents. I was delighted to welcome students from a local school to the Houses of Parliament. They received a tour of the historic buildings that I, and my colleagues, are fortunate enough to work in, before joining me for a question and answer session in Westminster Hall. The biggest treat of the day followed as I had managed to secure permission for students to visit Downing Street; Downing Street is a working environment so this is not always possible. Students (and teachers!) enjoyed taking pictures outside the world’s most famous door. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all those who made the trip and answering their very insightful questions. I suspect this may not be the last time we see some of those present outside the front door of No. 10 Downing Street!
If you would like your school to visit the House of Commons please contact me at [email protected] and I will be happy to help. “
