Victoria Atkins MP took time out to visit the Fire & Rescue Service at Louth Fire Station recently.
“The firemen and their support teams are an invaluable asset to the public” she declared, “and I wanted to thank them for their service and to hear about their problems and successes”
The Louth & Horncastle MP spent an hour with crews, management and all the equipment and saw for herself how an emergency is started and processed.
“Thankfully it was a quiet morning” she said “but I was left in no doubt as to the professionalism, efficiency and understated bravery of the men and women who look after us in an emergency”
The MP discussed resources, support and local government involvement and undertook to raise concerns with both Her Majesty's Government and Lincolnshire County Council.
“The visit was fascinating” she concluded “and I came away reassured on behalf of my constituents as to the commitment and dedication of our Fire Service.”
