Victoria Atkins has welcomed the news that Mablethorpe will be included in the second phase of the Coastal Revival Fund awards.
The Minister of State for Communities and Local Government, The Rt Hon Mark Francois MP, has announced that the Beach Hut Revival Project in Mablethorpe will receive £50,000 to enable the renovation and enhancing of a complete block of beach huts on Mablethorpe promenade.
The aim of the Coastal Revival Fund is to help kick start regeneration of “at risk” coastal heritage that has the potential to create opportunities for new economic uses, businesses and jobs.
Victoria said,
“I am delighted that Mablethorpe is to receive this £50,000 grant.
I am campaigning to improve the investment in our coastal towns and this is an important step in supporting the area. The investment in these beach hunts will add to the community, enhance the visitor experience and boost the local economy.
With funding three times oversubscribed, I am particularly pleased that our bid was successful. This award shows that the needs of Lincolnshire are being recognised nationally.
I very much look forward to visiting the beach huts once completed!”
