Victoria welcomed the news that the reforms to the national curriculum have seen us reach the best reading standards in England for over 15 years.
The reforms meant all schools would be required to use phonics to teach children to read, and it has seen reading levels improve for pupils from all backgrounds.
Over 10,000 pupils in Louth & Horncastle are now attending schools rated good and outstanding, which is an increase of nearly 2,000 since 2010.
Victoria is pleased that more children are gaining the skills that they need to excel in later life. She would like to thank the hard work of parents and teachers in making this progress possible.
