Last week I invited a Lloyds Bank Director to the Coningsby branch to see for himself the impact of closing their branches in Alford, Mablethorpe and Coningsby.
**Lloyds are coming to my Older People's Fair in Mablethorpe at the Dunes Complex on Friday 21 September 11:30am to 2pm - come along to ask them questions about your banking**
Although Cllr Craig Leyland (Leader of East Lindsey District Council) and I were not able to reverse their commercial decision, we did secure important assurances from Lloyds about future access to banking services in the constituency.
You can use your local Post Office for paying in cash/cheques and making withdrawals and a mobile branch will regularly visit the towns - the timetable will be found in due course at www.lloydsbank.com/banking-with-us/mobile-branch.
I have been assured that vulnerable customers and businesses using the branches are being assisted with alternative ways to bank.
Lloyds said that there are no plans to close town centre branches in Horncastle and Louth.
I will continue to keep a close eye on this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are experiencing issues at [email protected].
