It was great to visit the local vaccination site at the Marisco Medical Practice on a sunny morning in Mablethorpe last week. Thanks to the hard work of all involved, over 6,500 people have received an injection at the site so far.
During my visit, I spent time with the doctors, nurses and volunteers within the practice, and discussed the incredible logistical operation involved in vaccinating residents. A great amount of work goes into every step of the process at the site, from preparing the vaccine, to monitoring the waiting room and helping direct those attending appointments. I also spoke to Dr Brynnen Massey who helped rollout the vaccination in the local care homes along with members of the armed forces.
Patients at the site were incredibly excited about the future as they received their coronavirus injection. I would love for everyone to have that same happiness and hope, and I encourage all residents to get the jab when they receive the call. This vaccine is the way out of our fight against the virus, and how we can all move forward to a much brighter future.
My visit comes as over 34, 377 residents have now received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine in the constituency of Louth & Horncastle, and with over 20 million people receiving a vaccine nationally as the rollout continues throughout the next steps of the programme.
